Job Description

As a Staff Accountant, you will take ownership of core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely close processes, and strong internal controls. You will partner closely with leadership and operations to support informed decision-making and the continued growth of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
  • Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Actively participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, internal reports, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain and reconcile financing, loan, and credit accounts as needed.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
  • Review invoices, payments, and transactions for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate vendor and customer account records.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and reporting efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, leadership, and external partners as needed.

Qualifications

  • experience in general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and accounting principles.
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze and reconcile data accurately.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proactive mindset with a desire to grow, improve processes, and take ownership.
