Role Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant based in the Philippines to support the daily accounting operations of a U.S.-based company. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial data, timely reporting, and compliance with GAAP standards.
The ideal candidate has solid accounting fundamentals, excellent attention to detail, and experience supporting U.S. companies in a remote capacity. You'll be part of a collaborative accounting team that values quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions
- Support the Accounts Payable (AP) process by reviewing, coding, and processing vendor invoices and payments.
- Prepare and record cash transactions, journal entries, and accruals with a high degree of accuracy.
- Review and reconcile credit card statements and employee reimbursements monthly.
- Assist in the month-end close process, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of supporting schedules.
- Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP.
- Track project and job costs and ensure proper allocation to cost codes (experience with construction or real estate accounting is a plus).
- Use the company's ERP/accounting software for transaction processing, financial reporting, and data analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with U.S. team members in Finance, Operations, and Project Management.
- Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure all reporting and documentation are accurate, organized, and delivered on time.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with U.S. clients or companies.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Yardi, or Viewpoint).
- Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Construction or real estate industry experience is a plus.
