Job Summary
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper stock levels, and supporting efficient warehouse and operations. This role focuses on inventory accuracy, compliance with FIFO/FEFO rules, cycle counting, reporting, and continuous improvement of inventory processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across all storage locations
- Ensure inventory is managed according to FIFO and/or FEFO requirements
- reconcile system vs. physical counts
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and overages
- Track inbound and outbound shipments to ensure inventory is shipped correctly
- Update inventory records in WMS, WISE inventory management system
- Generate inventory reports, KPIs, and variance analyses
- Coordinate with warehouse, operations,
- Support audits and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Identify process improvements to reduce inventory errors and improve efficiency
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical / Hard Skills
- Strong knowledge of inventory control principles (FIFO, FEFO, LIFO)
- Experience with inventory systems (WMS, SAP, etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
- Understanding of warehouse operations
- Data analysis and reporting skills
- Basic understanding of KPIs and inventory accuracy metrics
