Job Description

The Financial Planning Analyst will focus primarily on the financial performance, cost analysis, and operational efficiency of the Commissary. The role supports the Corporate Planning Manager through detailed financial analysis, reporting, and evaluation of commissary-related costs, production data, and resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commissary Financial Analysis

  • Analyze Commissary P&L, including cost of goods, labor, overhead, and production variances.
  • Monitor raw materials, wastage, yield performance, and production efficiency trends.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cost analysis to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Commissary Operations for accurate cost tracking and alignment with production plans.

2. Production & Cost Monitoring

  • Track and validate standard vs. actual production costs, ingredient usage, and recipe costing.
  • Assist in developing or updating recipe costing sheets, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and production templates.
  • Monitor inventory movements, shrinkage, and variances in coordination with Supply Chain and Accounting.
  • Evaluate commissary KPIs (output vs. manpower, cost per batch, etc.).

3. Reporting & forecasting

  • Prepare weekly operational and financial reports for commissary performance.
  • Support monthly closing activities by validating commissary-related entries and cost allocations.
  • Assist in developing budgets and forecasts for commissary operations (materials, labor, overhead, production targets).

4. Coordination & Compliance

  • Work closely with Commissary Operations, Supply Chain, QA, and Finance teams to ensure accuracy of production and cost data.
  • Support audits, inventory counts, and compliance checks related to commissary operations.
  • Maintain organized costing files, trackers, and updated financial templates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or Business.
  • 24 years of experience in cost accounting, FP&A, or operations finance (preferably in food manufacturing, commissary, or restaurant industry).
  • Strong skills in cost analysis, financial modeling, and data validation.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of BI tools is an advantage.
  • Strong coordination, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
