Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Bookkeeper to assist with

administrative duties and manage bookkeeping tasks for our diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform bookkeeping and accounting duties using QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop platforms.

o Bank reconciliations, General Ledger Maintenance, and Bookkeeping

o Balance sheet reconciliations.

o Accounts Payable/Receivable management

o Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and

analyzing account information.

o Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling

transactions, resolving discrepancies.

o Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance;

reconciling entries.

o Complete payroll reconciliations and journal entries

o Tie out loan balances to statements or amortization schedules.

o Conduct research, analysis, development, and summarization of financial information for

audit purposes and financial reporting and to perform the financial administration and

reporting of federal and state grants.

o Manually match any remaining transactions ensuring to create rules for all recurring

transactions.

o Import banking transactions and categorize transactions.

o Bank and credit card reconciliation, journal entries, daily entry transaction, B&L, F&S

o Understands cash versus accrual accounting

o Do the data entry bookkeeping and other clerical tasks

o Do the initial bookkeeping (preparing) for the senior bookkeeper to takeover

o Will receive complex Excel sheet that will need to be organized, cleaned, and condensed

using Excel format (not manual)

o Will handle multiple clients at once, small to medium size

o Develop and maintain client manuals detailing activities that are unique to the client

o Develop and maintain checklists of end of period tasks for each client

o Understanding accounting concepts and analysis of accounting transactions.

o Utilizing various point of sale and customer relationship managers to integrate information

into financial statements (must be able to learn new software quickly)

  • Process payroll using ADP, Gusto, and QuickBooks payroll systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Necessary Skills:

  • Proven bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong focus on Excel and Word.
  • Strong working experience of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to review financial records and identify errors, discrepancies, or potential red flags.
  • Ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging technology for a paperless work environment.
  • Understanding of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with QuickBooks and general accounting practices.
  • Experience supporting multiple clients or working in an accounting/bookkeeping firm environment is a strong advantage
