Verification Officers perform validation and verification checks for financial information, identification and documents involved in the loan application and review process. The role entails applying our credit criteria and policy to provide high-quality outcomes for our customers and contributing towards our settlement and turnaround time targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the declared information, including identity, financial, employment and residential information, against bank statements and other documents to determine validity and accuracy
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders including Customer Operations, Business
- Development Managers and Associates, brokers and employers
- Perform outbound calls to assist applicants and brokers throughout the application
- Verify and validate that all lending policies are adhered to for each application
- Ensure each application complies with responsible lending and AML/CTF requirements
- Clear verbal and written communication with stakeholders to request further information and/or provide an outcome and reasoning
- Adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure efficient processing of applications and turnaround time targets are met
- Ad-hoc tasks as required
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & BEHAVIOURS
- Previous lending experience is highly advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify patterns
- Sound working knowledge of consumer lending regulatory and compliance requirements
- The ability to build relationships and coordinate with internal teams and customers
- Professional external verbal and written communication
- Ability to effectively communicate outcomes and reasoning to impacted parties
- Tech savvy, inquisitive, and the ability to pick up new programmes and processes quickly
- Highly adaptable to change
