Location: Philippines - Makati/Ortigas

Schedule: Morning Shift

The Technical Business Analyst (TBA) plays a critical role in supporting the Global Web Development (GWD) team by converting business needs into developer-ready tickets. This role is responsible for analysing, scoping, and documenting BAU requests and project work in a prescribed format that includes technical implementation details, ensuring clarity for developers and alignment with business outcomes.

The immediate priority for this role is to reduce backlog bottlenecks by ensuring all incoming requests are fully scoped with unambiguous requirements, robust acceptance criteria, and the necessary technical details for implementation. This is not a pure business analysis role the ideal candidate must be able to work at the intersection of business and technical, producing tickets that developers can confidently pick up and deliver.

Key Responsibilities

Backlog Scoping

  • Analyse and scope incoming BAU requests and project items into clear, actionable, and technically detailed user stories.
  • Ensure tickets follow the prescribed scoping format (including business requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical implementation details).
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager and Technical Analyst to validate scope and confirm technical feasibility.

Documentation & Communication

  • Produce functional specifications, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure requirements are developer-ready, unambiguous, and testable.
  • Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Support backlog refinement sessions and clarify requirements during implementation.

Collaboration & Delivery Support

  • Support the Scrum Master during sprint planning by ensuring stories are fully prepared, refined, and ready for estimation.
  • Provide clarification to developers and QA during delivery to minimise ambiguity.
  • Partner with QA to confirm acceptance criteria and test cases align with scoped requirements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to standardising requirements gathering and documentation practices across the team.
  • Help build repeatable processes for scoping BAU and project requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve ticket clarity, reduce rework, and improve delivery velocity

Scrum Master ensures backlog readiness for sprint planning.

Developers provides ongoing requirements support.

QA/QE ensures requirements are testable and quality is embedded.

Success Measures

  • Backlog of unscoped requests significantly reduced.
  • Tickets consistently delivered in the prescribed format with technical implementation details included.
  • Developers and QA confirm that tickets are clear, complete, and ready for delivery without excessive clarification.
  • Improved delivery velocity and reduced rework due to higher ticket quality.

Qualification And Requirements

  • Proven ability to take vague requests and rapidly translate them into fully scoped, developer-ready tickets with technical implementation details.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed/offshore teams.
  • Familiarity with Magento 2 would be beneficial but is not a requirement.
  • Experience with Figma or similar tools to interpret designs is advantageous.
  • Basic SQL or data querying skills advantageous for validating requirements and edge cases.

Non-negotiable Skills & Requirements

  • Strong skills in requirements elicitation, documentation, and process modelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or equivalent backlog management tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in backlog management and Agile delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce or content platforms
