PURPOSE (why does the position exist, WITH what objectives and WITHIN what limits):
Given the expanding number of entities and the increasing complexity of tasks within the Tax Group, it is recommended that a Manager be appointed to lead the department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Lawyer
CPA - Lawyer
Relevant Experience:
Has solid experience in tax of at least 4-5 years, preferably from Big 4 accounting firms or Law Firms specializing in Tax
Business Understanding:
- Handled entities/clients engaged in IT, real estate, and service business in general.
Technical Knowledge:
- Well versed with the Tax Code of the Philippines, BIR issuances, Court decisions, and other related laws, rules and regulations
- Handling of audit investigations both with LGU and the BIR
- Ability to provide tax advice
- Handled request for rulings with the BIR International Tax Affairs Division, Legal Division and other relevant authorities
- Ability to understand Financial Statements

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Tax Advisory and Advocacy
- Shall be able to provide tax advice in accordance with the existing tax laws, rules and regulations
Tax Audit Investigation from LGU and the BIR
- Should be well versed of the tax audit investigation process pursuant to the BIR Regulations and the Local Government Code
Conducts tax trainings and seminars
- Shall be able to provide trainings and seminars on significant tax matters and new tax laws, rules and regulations
Tax compliance of cross border and other complex transactions
- Shall be able to file position papers, requests for ruling, and other similar documents with government agencies
Verbal and written/formal correspondence with government agencies
- Shall be able to formally respond to inquiries and other matters by government agencies
