Job Description
- Lead the company's tax compliance and reporting activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete submission of tax returns, schedules, and other statutory requirements to the BIR and relevant government agencies.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and reconciliation of tax computations and tax-related accounts, including VAT, income tax, withholding taxes, documentary stamp tax, and other applicable taxes.
- Monitor changes in Philippine tax laws, BIR issuances, regulations, and rulings, and assess their impact on the company's operations and financial position.
- Manage and coordinate BIR tax audits, tax mapping activities, assessments, and other regulatory examinations, ensuring timely submission of required documents and appropriate resolution of findings.
- Provide tax advisory and technical support to Finance, Accounting, and business units on tax implications of business transactions, contracts, investments, promotions, and other initiatives.
- Review tax positions and recommend appropriate tax planning and risk mitigation strategies while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure proper tax accounting, reconciliations, documentation, and alignment between tax filings and financial records.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, documentation, and systems to enhance compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and government agencies on tax-related matters as necessary.
- Prepare tax-related reports, analyses, and management updates, highlighting key risks, exposures, opportunities, and recommended actions.
- Lead, coach, and develop members of the tax team, ensuring strong technical capability, accountability, and timely delivery of requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
- CPA license is highly preferred.
- At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in taxation, tax compliance, tax accounting, or external audit, preferably with experience in a large organization or FMCG/manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, BIR regulations, tax compliance requirements, and tax audit processes.
- Hands-on experience in BIR audits, assessments, tax mapping, and resolution of tax findings is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems; experience with SAP is an advantage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide practical tax advice to business partners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and sound professional judgment.
