Database Security Analyst is responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining IBM Guardium or equivalent solutions to ensure database and data security within an organization's IT environment. The analyst helps protect sensitive information, ensures compliance with security policies, and supports investigations of potential data breaches.
IBM Guardium is not required. You will be trained once hired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain DB Security solutions for database activity monitoring.
- Monitor and analyze database activity to detect unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
- Develop and implement Guardium policies, rules, and alerts based on organizational security requirements.
- Collaborate with IT security and database teams to respond to incidents and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Generate and review compliance and audit reports for PCI, SOX, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular health checks on Guardium appliances and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Support data discovery and classification processes using Guardium modules.
- Assist in ongoing process improvements and automation of Guardium-related tasks.
- Document policies, procedures, and configurations related to Guardium deployment and management.
- Stay updated with DB security product updates, patches, and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 2+ years Experience with DB Security tools like IBM Guardium deployment, configuration, and administration.
- Understanding of database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, AWS RDS etc.) and security concepts.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience with on-prem and cloud platforms scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, SQL) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Guardium Administrator) are advantageous.
