Senior Backend Engineer

Salary: 120,000 gross

Shift: Night (9 PM - 6 AM)

Role

You will architect and scale the backend that powers an AI first CRM. That means designing agentic systems that reason over millions of CRM records, RAG pipelines that surface the right market intelligence at the right moment: dispatching real humans to real bars in real time. If you are excited by the idea that your code directly replaceshours of manual work for every field rep in the industry, this is the seat.

What You'll Build

• Core services in Node.js and TypeScript (Fastify, NestJS, or similar), deployed on AWS or GCP
• Agentic AI workflows using Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, including multi step tool use, planning loops, and human in the loop patterns
• RAG pipelines over customer CRM data, market reports, and distributor catalogs using vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector)
• The audio transcription and CRM automation pipeline: capture, transcribe (Whisper, Deepgram), structure, sync, and trigger downstream actions
• Webhooks, event buses, and integrations with distributor systems (SevenFifty, VIP, RNDC, Southern)
• MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers exposing Overproof capabilities to Claude and other agents

Must Have

• 6+ years of production backend experience, with at least 3 in Node.js and TypeScript
• Strong database chops: Postgres, Redis, and at least one vector store
• Experience designing and shipping LLM powered features in production, including prompt engineering, evals, cost management, and latency optimization
• Deep familiarity with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor) as part of your daily workflow
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including serverless, containers, and queue systems (SQS, Kafka, BullMQ)
• Experience with authentication, authorization, and multi tenant data isolation
• A product mindset: you ask why before how

Nice to Have

• Experience building or consuming MCP servers
• Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Mastra, or Vercel AI SDK
• Background in CRM, sales automation, or marketplace platforms
• Experience with GraphQL and REST API design at scale
• Exposure to observability tooling (Datadog, Sentry, OpenTelemetry)
• Prior experience in regulated industries (alcohol, finance, healthcare)
