As Optimo continues to scale, we're looking for a Senior Accountant who can ensure accuracy, compliance, and control across financial operations while supporting strategic decision-making.
What You'll Do
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations acrossGL, AR, AP, and inventory, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting schedules prepared by junior staff.
- Ensure timely and accuratebank, e-wallet, and credit card reconciliations, resolving complex discrepancies.
- ManageAR and AP oversight, including aging analysis, cash flow impact, and payment prioritization.
- Maintain and reviewfixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and inventory reconciliations.
- Prepare and reviewmonthly financial schedules(prepaids, accruals, intercompany, inventory).
- Leadmonth-end and year-end close, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
- Draft and reviewVAT, EWT, and FWT schedulesprior to submission and management sign-off.
- Supportpayroll accounting, validation, and related journal postings.
- Assist inaudit preparation, responding to auditor queries and ensuring clean audit trails.
- Identify process gaps and driveautomation, controls, and workflow improvements.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide guidance, review, and mentoring to Bookkeepers and Junior Accountants.
- Work closely with the Finance Lead, Operations, and Management on financial insights and reporting.
- Ensure accounting policies and internal controls are consistently followed.
What You'll Bring
- CPA license (PRC-licensed) preferred; non-CPA with strong senior accounting experience considered.
- TESDA Bookkeeping Certificateis a plus
- Strong working knowledge ofPhilippine accounting standards and tax compliance(VAT, EWT, FWT).
- Minimum 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably inFMCG, distribution, or direct sales.
- Advanced proficiency inExcel or Google Sheets(pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems such asXero, QuickBooks, Netsuite, or SAP B1.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage high transaction volumes.
- High integrity, accountability, and clear communication skills.
What Success Looks Like (First 6090 Days)
- Month-end close consistently completed withinWD+3 to WD+5.
- Zero unreconciled balances older than agreed thresholds.
- Accurate AR/AP aging with improved cash flow visibility.
- Tax schedules prepared on time with minimal review adjustments.
- Clear documentation, stronger controls, and smoother audit readiness.
Work Setup & Hours
- Location:Ortigas, Pasig (Full-time Onsite)
- Schedule:Day Shift, standard Philippine business hours
- (Flexibility required during month-end, audits, and compliance deadlines)
