About the Role
We are looking for a systems-thinking Senior Accountant who thrives at the intersection of core US GAAP accounting and modern financial technology. You won't just be doing the books; you will be architecting the financial infrastructure for some of the world's most promising SaaS and AI startups.
The ideal candidate is someone who looks at a manual process and thinks, How can I automate this and looks at a complex SaaS contract and thinks, How does this impact our revenue recognition model
Responsibilities
- SaaS Financial Management: Own end-to-end accounting for multiple startup clients, with a heavy focus on subscription revenue recognition and SaaS metrics.
- Infrastructure Building: Design and implement scalable workflows, transitioning clients from manual/messy to automated/efficient.
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and complex reconciliations with high precision.
- Tech Stack Optimization: Manage and integrate tools across the US finance stack, including QuickBooks Online, Stripe, and Ramp.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work asynchronously via Slack and Zoom, providing proactive insights to internal teams and clients.
- Process Documentation: Contribute to the firm's operational playbooks to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all client entities.
Competencies and Qualifications
Must-Have
- 510+ years of professional accounting experience (with a track record of increasing responsibility).
- Deep understanding of US GAAP, specifically regarding revenue recognition for subscription-based models.
- Proven experience working with US-based companies and familiarity with US business environments.
- Advanced expertise in QuickBooks Online.
- Startup Mindset: Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to operate autonomously without a rigid manual.
- A natural inclination toward efficiency and systems thinking.
- Demonstrated experience experimenting with or implementing AI tools (LLMs, AI-enabled accounting software, or automation agents) within financial workflows. Proficiency in prompt engineering and iterative AI interaction to maximize operational efficiency.
Nice-to-Have
- CPA Certification
- Experience with Ramp, Stripe, Xero, Sage, or AI-enabled accounting workflows.
- Experience handling 3+ distinct clients or entities simultaneously.
