Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in overseeing the monthly accounting close, consolidation, and reporting process. This position works collaboratively with the broader accounting team and cross-functional partners such as Treasury, Legal, HR, and Segment Finance. The role is responsible for ensuring accuracy in financial statements, compliance with internal policies and statutory standards, and continuous improvement of accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly close and consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Review trial balances, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial statement analytics.
- Prepare or review monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory reports.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting standards and statutory regulations.
- Participate in peer review of balance sheet reconciliations and internal control assessments.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce close cycle time.
- Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Collaborate with department heads to resolve accounting-related matters.
- Supervise and ensure accuracy and completeness of work produced by accounting staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or any related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong experience with consolidations in a large, multinational company (preferred).
- Proficient with Oracle/SAP, Hyperion/OneStream, and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Experience in public accounting or large U.S. public companies (a plus).
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to analyze complex financial data.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage ad hoc priorities with agility.
