JOB DESCRIPTION
The Product Specialist is responsible for supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of key product areas within the PalawanPay platform. This role partners closely with the Lead Product Manager to define product requirements, track success metrics, and support execution from discovery through launch and post-release optimization.
The Product Specialist works cross-functionally with engineering, design, operations, compliance, risk, and business stakeholders to help build scalable, secure, and customer-centric fintech products particularly in payments, remittance, and digital financial services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Lead Product Manager in defining, prioritizing, and executing product roadmaps, backlogs, and delivery plans aligned with business objectives.
Gather, document, and analyze business, operational, and regulatory requirements to inform product enhancements and new features.
Collaborate closely with the Business Analyst responsible for developing detailed product artifacts, ensuring business requirements are clearly translated into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.
Work closely with engineering, QA, and design teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered as intended.
Participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, reviews, retrospectives) and help maintain backlog readiness in an agile environment.
Participate in functional testing and UAT activities to validate requirements and business outcomes, while working closely with QA and engineering teams who own test execution.
Monitor product performance using KPIs (e.g., adoption, transaction success rate, drop-offs, operational issues) and propose data-driven improvements.
Support product launches by coordinating with marketing, operations, customer support, and training teams; prepare release notes, FAQs, and internal documentation.
Assist in managing dependencies across teams, vendors, and external partners (e.g., payment networks, service providers).
Stay informed on local and regional fintech trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments to support product innovation and compliance.
Prepare and present product updates, status reports, and insights to internal stakeholders.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, or related roles within fintech, banking, payments, or technology-driven organizations.
Hands-on experience writing product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and basic business or impact analyses.
Clear, structured communicator with strong written and verbal skills; able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working in cross-functional, agile teams in a fast-paced environment.
Basic technical literacy, with an understanding of APIs, system flows, and dependencies.
Familiarity with digital financial products, such as:
oPayments and payment networks
oRemittances and wallets
oAPIs and system integrations
Basic understanding of information security principles relevant to fintech, such as data privacy, access controls, and secure transaction handling, with the ability to collaborate effectively with security and risk teams.
Comfortable participating in discussions related to accounting, finance, reconciliation, and settlement flows, particularly as they relate to payments and remittance products.
Ability to understand and articulate the impact of product changes on financial reporting, settlement cycles, and operational controls.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance business needs, user experience, regulatory considerations, and technical constraints.
Comfortable working with data, dashboards, and metrics to assess product performance and identify improvement opportunities.
