The Payroll Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end payroll operations for the Philippine organization within a shared services environment. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while driving continuous improvement, efficiency, and strong governance. Expertise in Philippines payroll, statutory compliance, and SAP payroll systems is essential.
What is the job like
1. Payroll Operations Management
- Lead and manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for the Philippines in accordance with company policies and government regulations.
- Oversee validation of timekeeping data, earnings, deductions, benefits, tax computations, and final pay.
- Ensure high accuracy and timely execution of payroll cycles, off-cycle payments, government remittances, and statutory reporting.
2. Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
- Ensure full compliance with Philippine labor laws, tax regulations, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR requirements, and DOLE standards.
- Lead payroll-related audits, respond to external and internal compliance requests, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
3. SAP Systems Expertise
- Manage payroll processing using SAP HCM / SAP SuccessFactors (PY, TM, PA modules).
- Oversee configuration validation, run payroll simulations, troubleshoot system issues, and collaborate with IT/HRIS teams on enhancements.
- Assess system-generated results to ensure correctness and compliance.
4. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of payroll specialists/analysts within the shared services structure.
- Partner closely with HR, Finance, Total Rewards, and Global/Regional Shared Services teams.
- Ensure service-level agreements (SLAs), KPIs, and process quality metrics are consistently met.
5. Process Improvement & Governance
- Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives, automation, and standardization across payroll processes.
- Maintain master data integrity, payroll controls, documentation, and process maps.
- Support system upgrades, UAT testing, and change management activities.
Who are you
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 58+ years of experience in Philippine payroll operations.
- Experience in a Shared Services or Global Business Services (GBS) environment required.
- Strong SAP payroll experience is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing payroll teams or leading payroll operations.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP HCM / SuccessFactors Payroll.
- Strong understanding of Philippine payroll regulations, tax computation, and statutory reporting.
- Proficient in MS Excel, payroll audits, and process documentation.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team management capabilities.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management within a shared services context.
