Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Technical Lead – Network Engineering to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure. This role is ideal for a mid-level professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to guide operations and support activities.
The candidate will be responsible for network break-fix operations, troubleshooting, and delivery-related tasks such as configuration, implementation, and testing of network services. You will work across a wide range of technologies including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the network environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Network Operations & Support (Break-Fix)
- Perform incident management and break-fix support for network infrastructure issues.
- Diagnose and resolve faults across:
- Routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
- Monitor network performance and proactively address issues.
- Work on root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs for incident resolution.
Network Configuration & Delivery
- Execute network delivery tasks, including:
- Port turn-ups and activations
- VLAN configuration and routing updates
- Load balancer pool/service configurations
- Firewall rule creation and modification
- Perform network testing and validation after implementation.
- Support change management processes, including documentation and approvals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for deployments and projects.
Routing, Switching & Security
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco-based switching and routing environments.
- Manage and maintain:
- Layer 2/Layer 3 networks
- Routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP – if applicable)
- Administer and support:
- Firewalls (policy management, access rules, NAT configurations)
- Handle load balancing technologies for traffic distribution and application availability.
Technical Leadership (Mid-Level Scope)
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and operations teams.
- Act as a point of contact for technical escalations.
- Assist in documentation, SOP creation, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes and standards.
Qualifications:
- Has Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or any related field.
- Has 5+ years of overall experience in Network Engineering or Operations.
- Strong experience in Cisco Switching & Routing, Firewall administration (any major vendor: Cisco ASA/Firepower, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.), and Load Balancing technologies (F5, Citrix, or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience with Network troubleshooting / break-fix operations, Network configuration and deployment
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, NAT, and Network security concepts
- Must be amenable to work on a 24x7 model or rotational shift (shifting – morning, mid, and night).
- Must be amenable to work in a hybrid work setup (3x a week RTO in Taguig or Makati office
