Overview
The Engineering Management Assistant Manager role supports the Core Network Manager in the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the telecommunications core network. This role is vital in ensuring the high availability, security, and performance of core network elements
supporting voice, data, and digital services.
Key Functions and Responsibilities
1) Core Network Design & Planning
- Assist in the design and planning of core network architecture (CS/PS/IMS/5G Core) to
align with business requirements.
- Support network evolution initiatives, including LTE expansion, VoLTE, VoWiFi, and 5G
SA/NSA deployment.
- Help define technical standards and maintain network architecture documentation.
2) Implementation & Integration Execution
- Support the deployment, configuration, and integration of core network elements such as
HLR/HSS, MME, AMF/SMF, and IMS.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for System Acceptance Testing (SAT) and
service readiness.
- Ensure technical documentation is accurate for handover to operations teams.
3) Coordination & Project Control
- Collaborate with departments like CTO, Marketing, and O&M to ensure project
alignment.
- Support vendor relationship management, including tracking performance and
identifying risks.
- Manage daily Engineering Order (EO) and Purchase Order (PO) processes, ensuring
timely issuance and closure.
- Review project designs and schedule management for non-EPC projects to ensure they
meet technical guidelines.
4) Monitoring, Reporting & Quality Assurance
- Prepare and submit accurate, timely progress and management reports for senior
leadership.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and assist in mitigating project risks.
- Maintain quality and safety standards across data centers and equipment installation
sites.
- Manage production resources (materials and vehicles) to ensure efficient allocation.
5) Technical Leadership & Team Support
- Support the training and performance management of the Construction Management
(CM) team.
- Assist in recruitment planning and competency assessments.
- Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure construction and delivery
requirements are met
Required Expertise & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, IT, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in core network planning, implementation, or operations.
- Technical Skills: * Strong knowledge of mobile core technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G).
- Vast understanding IP networking, signaling protocols (SS7, Diameter, SIP), and routing.
- Experience with virtualization, cloud-native core, and NFV/SDN is a major advantage.
- Certifications: Vendor certifications (Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia) or PMP/ITIL are highly preferred
