Job Description

Job Title: Management Accountant

Department: Finance

Reports To: Finance Manager

Location: Remote – Philippines

Position Overview

The Management Accountant is responsible for delivering high-quality financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making across the business. This role works closely with site teams to provide insights into financial performance and project outcomes across Australia (primary focus – 80%), New Zealand, and the United States. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, analytical, and confident working in a remote, fast-paced environment supporting construction and civil engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Management Reporting, Budgeting & Forecasting

· Lead monthly management reporting, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis.

· Prepare detailed variance analysis (budget vs actuals) with clear commentary and insights.

· Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.

· Develop financial models to support business initiatives, pricing decisions, and capital investments.

· Provide project profitability analysis.

· Assisting FM with subsidiary management: AU / NZ / US.

2. Site Business Partnering

· Partner directly with site teams to monitor project performance and financial outcomes.

· Conduct weekly catch-ups with sites, including manufacturing P&L assessments.

· Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency.

· Support site leadership in understanding budgets and financial performance.

3. Project Accounting

· Assess, analyze & implement finance projects (e.g., IP / R&D initiatives).

· Monitor and analyze project financial performance against budgets.

· Ensure accurate allocation of transactions across subsidiaries, departments, and locations.

· Review WIP (Work in Progress) and revenue recognition in accordance with accounting standards.

4. Reporting & Compliance

· Ensure timely and accurate monthly close in collaboration with the accounting team.

· Support compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).

· Support audit processes by preparing schedules and financial analysis where required.

5. Process Improvement & Systems

· Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and internal controls.

· Enhance reporting automation within NetSuite and Excel.

· Contribute to the development and monitoring of financial policies and procedures.

6. Other Duties

· Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by management.

· Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.

· Assist in implementation and monitoring of company financial policies.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· CPA, CMA, CIMA, or equivalent professional certification (preferred).

· Minimum 5+ years experience in Management Accounting or commercial finance.

· Strong experience in management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

· Experience supporting construction, civil engineering, manufacturing, or project-based businesses is highly preferred.

· Proficiency in Australian accounting standards preferred; NZ & US exposure advantageous.

· Payroll processing experience is a bonus, mainly in AU & NZ.

· Advanced proficiency in Oracle NetSuite (preferred) and Microsoft Excel.

· Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

· Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
