Job Description

The Senior Management Accountant reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for day-to-day finance operations and financial reporting. This role ensures accurate, reliable, and timely processing of financial transactions while producing high-quality reporting and analysis to support business decision-making.

This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the Head of Finance and plays a key role in strengthening finance processes and supporting the companys continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cash Flow

  • Manage and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and manage collection follow-ups.
  • Maintain accurate cash flow tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure timely payment cycles and financial controls.

Month-End Close & Reconciliation

  • Own and run the monthly close process.
  • Perform accurate bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting deadlines are met.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly management reports.
  • Conduct variance analysis and financial performance reporting.
  • Produce ad-hoc financial reports and analysis for management.
  • Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Track performance against budget and identify variances.
  • Support management with financial planning insights.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintain organized and auditable financial records.
  • Support tax compliance and work with external accountants.
  • Ensure financial processes reduce risk and improve efficiency.

Finance Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Implement improvements to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Support adoption of finance tools and systems enhancements.

Data Security & Confidentiality

  • Comply with company policies related to data protection, confidentiality, and information security.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA (Philippines) highly regarded
  • Minimum 5 years experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles
  • Experience working with Australian businesses or Australian accounting standards
  • Familiarity with Australian GST and tax principles
  • Experience with cloud accounting systems (Xero preferred)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modelling
  • Experience using expense management systems
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability

Non-Negotiable Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience
  • Experience supporting Australian companies or Australian accounting standards
  • Working knowledge of Australian GST
  • Hands-on experience with Xero
  • Strong Excel capability (pivot tables, lookups, financial analysis)
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Ability to independently manage month-end close and financial reporting
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
