The DNP Cost Analyst Specialist will support cost management functions specifically for projects in the Defects and Notification Period (DNP) stage. This position will oversee multiple DNP projects concurrently, each with a reduced scope of work and limited remaining costs.
This role involves close coordination with the Execution team, O&M, SCM, and FAD to ensure accurate monitoring of remaining budget balances, processing of punchlist-related costs, and closeout activities. The position also includes support functions to ongoing (NTP) projects and selected innovation/KPI initiatives as needed.
Outcomes Expected and Responsibilities:
1. DNP Project Monitoring & Budget Control
- Monitor all DNP-stage projects across the portfolio, ensuring proper tracking of punchlist costs, retention, and warranty-related expenditures.
- Work with the Cost Analyst Manager and Cost Management team to align DNP budgets and cost items with the approved final account.
- Maintain a simplified and integrated cost structure for each DNP project to ensure effective closeout tracking and financial reporting.
- Assist in forecasting final project costs and analyzing residual budget variances.
2. Cost Optimization & Risk Management
- Ensure all DNP-related expenditures (e.g. minor repairs, warranties, penalties, etc.) are properly reviewed and coded.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate or streamline DNP-related processes and reporting.
- Flag any risks or unexpected cost items during the DNP phase and propose necessary actions and measures.
3. Procurement & Payment Processing (DNP-Specific)
- Handle PRs and RFPs related to DNP project scope, including final payments, penalty settlements, or rectification costs.
- Coordinate with SCM and FAD to ensure all DNP-related payments align with contractual obligations and payment terms.
- Support the timely preparation and submission of final Project Evaluation Forms, Payment Certificates, and Certificates of Completion.
4. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare consolidated monthly reports on the status of all DNP projects, highlighting cost trends, pending payments, and closeout issues.
- Assist in final reconciliations and project closure documentation.
- Support the team in aligning Construction Budget Monitoring (CBM) with actual expenditures and final reports for FAD records
5. Cross-Functional Support
- Provide support to other Cost Analysts handling NTP (Notice to Proceed) projects when needed, including ad hoc cost tracking, analysis, or reporting.
- Assist in KPI and Innovation Projects, such as Solar Calc and other process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- With at least two (2) years experience in Cost Engineering, Cost Estimating, and planning, estimating and other areas of project controls in a construction environment.
- Must have 1-2 year of relevant experience in Project Management in Renewable Energy project/s is an advantage
- Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Excel, Google applications, other MS Office programs, Dashboards formulation and presentation
- Basic functional knowledge of accounting, financial accounting
- Articulate, excellent mathematical skills, professional speaking, and investigative mindset
- Proficient with computer programs and a working knowledge of new technology
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co‐workers, outside agencies, business partners, and consultants
