Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Officer

Job Summary

The Business Development Officer is responsible for driving company growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities in construction projects. The role manages the full business development cyclefrom lead generation and proposal preparation to contract negotiation and project endorsement to operations.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities for construction projects
  • Conduct market research to track upcoming construction works, tenders, and potential project leads
  • Lead the preparation of proposals, quotations, cost estimates, and bid documents
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Estimation, Procurement, and Operations teams for technical and costing requirements
  • Manage follow-ups on submitted bids, proposals, and client inquiries to increase award probability
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers
  • Maintain updated records of leads, clients, and project pipelines
  • Represent the company in client meetings, presentations, and site visits as required
  • Support negotiation processes and assist in contract review and finalization
  • Monitor project status from pre-bid stage to project award and proper turnover to operations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, documentation requirements, and bid submission procedures
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Business Development Manager or Department Head

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 23 years of experience in business development, sales, or construction industry (preferred)
  • Knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and project documentation is an advantage
  • Strong communication, negotiation, coordination, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willing to attend site visits, meetings, and client presentations
  • Goal-oriented, detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven

Work Schedule

Full-time | Monday to Friday
