The Business Development Manager will proactively generate and manage new sales opportunities, including Requests for Quotation (RFQs), ensuring effective coordination across internal stakeholders and seamless engagement with customers throughout the opportunity lifecycle-from initial qualification through deal closure and handover to operations.
Business Development & Sales Execution
Identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities in line with DSSI's strategic growth priorities
Continuously review target accounts to identify expansion and value-creation opportunities
Manage customer engagements, including discovery sessions, opportunity assessments, and solution discussions
Prepare, present, and negotiate solution proposals and commercial offers with key decision-makers
Lead deal closure activities and ensure a structured handover to Operations and Account Management
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Develop and sustain strong professional relationships with key customer stakeholders and decision-makers
Act as the primary customer contact throughout the sales and transition process
Gather customer feedback post-award and participate in internal post-opportunity reviews
Position DSSI as a trusted, value-driven partner capable of supporting customer growth objectives
Solution Development & Internal Collaboration
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Solutions Design, Operations, IT, HR, Finance, Legal, Real Estate, and others) to develop fit-for-purpose, commercially viable solutions
Define DSSI's value proposition and outline high-level solution parameters based on customer requirements
Assemble inputs and prepare proposals, business case analyses, and supporting documentation
Support knowledge sharing and best-practice exchange within the DSSI and DSC community
Proven experience inBusiness Development, Sales, or Commercial Management, preferably withinSupply Chain, Logistics, or Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
Strong commercial and operational acumen, including exposure to proposal development and costing
Working knowledge of logistics or supply chain operations
Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer engagements and negotiations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation capabilities
Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
High degree of initiative, accountability, and professionalism
Structured, results-oriented approach to opportunity management
