We are looking for a Business Development Engineer.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Market Research and Opportunity Assessment

  • Gather and analyze data on EV adoption trends, competitor networks, and potential site locations
  • Prepare reports on market size, demand drivers, and regulatory developments relevant to EV infrastructure

Site Acquisition and Relationship Management

  • Identify potential sites for EV charging stations using market research, Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping, and industry networks
  • Conduct site visits, evaluate location suitability, and prepare preliminary site assessments
  • Prepare site feasibility summaries and coordinate technical validation with stakeholders
  • Assist in drafting Letter of Intents (LOIs) and documentation for site acquisition
  • Negotiate lease/charging station operations and management/partner agreements, permissions, or partnerships with site owners, municipalities, and other stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, real estate partners, and strategic partners for site acquisition

Business Planning for New Areas

  • Prepare detailed business plans for expansion into new cities, regions, or geographies, and market segments
  • Include market assessment, competitive analysis, potential site locations, financial projections, and revenue models

Financial Planning/Modelling and Analysis

  • Develop detailed financial models for proposed sites and expansion plans, including CAPEX, OPEX, revenue projections, and ROI analysis
  • Coordinate with Finance Head for budget validation, approvals, and funding requirements
  • Consolidate inputs for business cases and present recommendations to the Product & BD Head

Marketing and Business Growth

  • Collaborate with Commercial Team to align site acquisition with sales targets and customer engagement plans
  • Develop localized marketing strategies to drive usage and adoption at newly deployed stations

Cross Functional Coordination

  • Liaise with Procurement to ensure timely acquisition of charging equipment, installation materials, and vendor contracts
  • Support procurement planning based on site timelines and financial approvals

App and CPMS Coordination

  • Work with Product Analyst, Operations, and IT teams to ensure app integration for new sites
  • Ensure proper customer whitelisting, billing, and station availability in CPMS before go-live

Technical Assessment, Project Execution Support, and Project Energization/Launch

  • Review technical readiness of sites (power availability, interconnection requirements, equipment delivery schedules)
  • Identify bottlenecks in permitting, grid connection, or installation and recommend process improvements to accelerate project energization/launch

Project Execution Support

  • Review technical readiness of sites (power availability, interconnection requirements, equipment delivery schedules)
  • Identify and address bottlenecks in permitting, grid connection, installation, or software integrations and recommend process improvements to accelerate project energization/launch

Strategic Initiatives: JVs, Partnerships, and M&A

  • Assist in evaluating potential joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, or strategic partnerships
  • Prepare initial research, financial analysis, and presentation materials for management review
  • Assist in end-to-end execution of JV/M&A projects including due diligence, financial modeling, negotiations, approvals, and integration planning
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Operations, Procurement, Product, and Project teams, and external advisors for smooth execution

New Business Models

  • Explore, evaluate, and support implementation of innovative business models, such as subscription-based charging, energy-as-a-service, white-label managed services, etc.
  • Collaborate with Product, Operations, and IT teams to ensure feasibility, profitability, and customer satisfaction for new business models.
  • Monitor performance of managed services initiatives and propose improvements or expansions.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Financial modeling, forecasting, ROI analysis, and valuation for infrastructure and M&A projects
  • Market research, competitor benchmarking, and opportunity assessment
  • Negotiation, stakeholder management, and cross-functional project coordination
  • Ability to prepare professional management and Board-level presentations
  • Ability to develop actionable business plans for new geographies or markets
  • Flexibility to handle ad hoc strategic initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a Licensed Electrical Engineer
  • Preferably with at least 2-3 years of experience in business development, sales, infrastructure projects, or strategic partnerships
  • Proven experience in handling strategic deals such as JVs and partnerships projects
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Procurement, Operations, IT, and Project Management teams
  • Adaptable to ad hoc and high-priority assignments
  • Willing to work on-site (Ortigas, Pasig City)
