Job Description: Business Analyst – Enterprise Data Platform
Role Summar
The Business Analyst will support business use cases ensuring that requirements, rules, data definitions, transformation logic, downstream consumption needs, and validation expectations are clearly documented and aligned with the signed-off scope
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering and Analysis
- Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions with business users, data owners, source system SMEs, downstream consumers, and technical teams
- Capture business scenarios, scope, KPIs, rules, existing constraints, downstream usage, and expected outcomes
- Support preparation and refinement of BRDs
- Translate business requirements into functional requirements for FRS and LLD development
- Identify gaps, ambiguities, dependencies, and assumptions in business requirements
Business Rule and Data Rule Documentation
- Document approved business matching rules, transformation rules, aggregation rules, segmentation rules, eligibility rules, and prioritization logic
- Support rule definition, including customer matching rules, fuzzy logic requirements, government ID matching, name and date-of-birth matching, and matching validation expectations.
- Ensure rules are documented clearly enough for technical implementation and testing
Data Mapping and Source Analysis
- Work with source system SMEs to document source systems, tables, fields, data definitions, data dictionaries, interface specifications, and ERDs
- Prepare source-to-target mapping inputs for data models and transformation logic
- Support identification of approved upstream datasets for ingestion and modelling
- Validate data mapping assumptions with business and technical stakeholders
- Document data quality issues, missing definitions, duplicate keys, inconsistent formats, and other source data concerns
Testing and Acceptance Support
- Support preparation of SIT and UAT test scenarios, test cases, expected results, and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with business users to validate outputs against signed-off BRD and design specifications.
- Support UAT execution, issue triage, defect clarification, retesting, and sign-off preparation.
- Ensure test scenarios validate business rules, data outputs, data quality rules, downstream connectivity, and consumption expectations.
- Document UAT feedback and ensure approved changes are managed through the agreed change control process
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of business analysis experience in data, analytics, banking, financial services, or enterprise technology projects.
- Strong experience gathering and documenting BRDs, functional requirements, business rules, data mappings, and acceptance criteria
- Good understanding of data platforms, data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouse architecture, or analytics solutions.
- Ability to work with technical teams on ETL, data models, data quality, metadata, lineage, and downstream consumption requirements.
