Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting, Tax Compliance, Governance & Internal Controls

  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of all accounting tasks particularly on the preparation of working papers on accounting for real estate contract-to-sell of voluminous real estate buyers in accordance to the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) 15, Revenue from Contracts with Customers and accounting for lease contracts under PFRS 16, Leases.
  • Oversee monthly and yearly financial statement closing processes with extensive focus on bank reconciliations, reconciliation of related party transactions, and ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Work with tax consultants to ensure acceptable level of confidence on tax position and to minimize risks.
  • Serve as the primary contact person with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits, addressing and resolving any audit findings promptly.
  • Manage internal and external financial and BIR tax audits
  • Sign-off statutory, regulatory reporting and group reporting
  • Oversee all aspects of information management and internal/external financial reporting, including submissions to the SEC, Group reporting, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure adequate management of financial risk in line with company and group policies
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Oversee changes to the chart of accounts, cost centers, and profit center structures in MS AX Dynamics and ensures smooth integration of new legal entities into group consolidation, if any.
  • Provide leadership on corporate restructuring projects and other ad hoc initiatives to optimize the group's corporate and financial structure.
  • Facilitate communication of and monitor compliance to Accounting and Finance policies and procedures across the business units/departments
  • Lead process improvements for better accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in financial analysis and reporting, including the development of dashboards and reporting tools
  • Lead the drafting and communication of company-wide accounting policies, ensuring compliance with the latest standards, and supports their implementation.
  • Recruits, leads, and develops subordinates, ensuring high ethical standards and strong performance across the team.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Ensure that budget targets and guidelines are cascaded to the assigned business units/departments
  • Work with business unit leadership teams in the preparation of plans/budgets/forecasts and ensure alignment with management expectations; finalize the presentation packs by providing additional business insights
  • Identify & review funding requirements for endorsement to the funding officer

Business Performance Measurement and Decision Support

  • Track business performance versus plans/budgets/forecasts (including working capital management), analyze and draw insights from reports and market related benchmark data
  • Drive cost controllership, bringing deep understanding of cost drivers to monitor & optimize spend effectiveness
  • Support business units/departments to make timely, strategically aligned and value maximizing decisions through multi-dimensional analysis within relevant financial and operational business scenarios (opening new business lines, capex, new channels/products, and others)
  • Analyze operational expenses and costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes and automate tasks within the accounting department to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
  • With at least five (5) years working experience in related field
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis, accounts payable and receivable management, and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, with the ability to implement, monitor, and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
  • Excellent ability to collaborate cross-functionally, ensuring accurate and timely financial data across departments.
