Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
  • Licensure: CPA
  • Experience: 45 years in an accounting leadership or managerial role
  • Core Competencies:
  • Accounting principles, taxation, compliance
  • Analytical thinking, integrity, attention to detail
  • Communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of automated accounting systems
  • Training: Relevant updates in accounting standards, taxation, and continuing professional education
  • Work Setup: Primarily office-based with occasional fieldwork for coordination and document submissions

Basic Function

Responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling all accounting and financial reporting activities to support timely, accurate, and compliant financial operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

A. Technical Responsibilities

1. Financial Management

  • Oversee consolidation, analysis, and recording of financial transactions.
  • Review financial statements and recommend actions to Management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports.

2. Books of Accounts / Records Monitoring

  • Ensure correct and timely recording of transactions.
  • Approve vouchers and journal entries.
  • Maintain updated ledgers and review general ledger accounts.

3. Policies & Controls

  • Establish and enforce accounting systems and internal controls.

4. Company Assets

  • Implement policies to safeguard company assets.
  • Review fixed asset records, valuations, and depreciation.

5. Audit

  • Oversee preparation of audit schedules.
  • Discuss findings with management and recommend necessary actions.

6. Compliance

  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory reports.
  • Safeguard accuracy of information and filings.

7. External Coordination

  • Liaise with auditors, financial institutions, and government-related counterparts on accounting and compliance matters.

8. Other Tasks

  • Perform related duties as required by management.

B. Leadership & Management

  • Set departmental goals aligned with company objectives.
  • Prepare budgets and ensure proper staffing.
  • Communicate performance standards and KPIs.
  • Provide solutions to operational issues and offer guidance to the team.
  • Motivate, coach, and support team members.
  • Promote teamwork and ensure policy compliance.
  • Lead onboarding for new or transitioning team members.
  • Facilitate problem-solving, process improvements, and innovation.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Participate in hiring, meetings, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Strengthen internal and external partnerships.
  • Promote customer-focused service across the team.
