Job Description

  • System Administration & Maintenance
  • Manage day-to-day administration of the Xero platform, ensuring data accuracy and system stability.
  • Configure and maintain chart of accounts, tax settings, tracking categories, and approval workflows.
  • Create and manage user roles, access permissions, and security settings.
  • Monitor system performance and apply configuration updates as needed.
  • Implementation, Migration & Integration
  • Lead or support Xero implementation and migration projects, including data import, validation, and setup.
  • Integrate Xero with third-party platforms such as POS, CRM, payroll, and inventory systems.
  • Develop and maintain automation rules for bank reconciliation and other recurring transactions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration and data synchronization issues.
  • Financial Operations Support
  • Ensure accurate and timely bank feed setup and reconciliation.
  • Generate and customize management reports such as P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Support the Finance and Accounting team in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Training & User Support
  • Provide first-line support for Xero-related inquiries and technical issues.
  • Conduct system training sessions and develop user guides and SOPs.
  • Promote best practices and ensure consistent system usage across departments.
  • Continuous Improvement & Change Management
  • Stay updated with Xero feature releases and recommend relevant improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and automate financial processes.
  • Lead change management efforts during system upgrades or process enhancements.

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Xero Advisor or Xero Migration Certification preferred.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 35 years of hands-on experience in Xero administration, implementation, or support.
  • Proven experience in integrating Xero with external systems and automating workflows.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience in multi-entity or SME accounting environments is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Xero configuration, data migration, and user security management.
  • Skilled in Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiar with integration tools and APIs related to Xero.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Adaptable and proactive in improving systems and processes.
