Role Overview

- As a US Tax Accountant, you won't just process numbers — you'll investigate them. Working closely with senior accountants, you'll dive into financial data, reconcile inconsistencies, and build real expertise in U.S. tax reporting and investment fund structures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and reconcile financial data across internal reports and bank statements.
- Identify discrepancies and investigate inconsistencies in financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of U.S. K-1 financial statements (14-page version).
- Support audit processes and maintain documentation for compliance.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
- Organize and prioritize tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Work with spreadsheets, email systems, and internal databases (e.g., Microsoft Access).
- Collaborate with senior accountants on tax and fund-related activities.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have):
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong general accounting knowledge, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook and QuickBooks (or similar accounting software).
- Experience supporting audits and preparing documentation.
- Ability to review and reconcile balance sheets, internal reports, and bank statements.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks independently.
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and be trained, especially in U.S. K-1 reporting.
- Comfort working in a night shift schedule (U.S. EST hours).
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):
- Exposure to U.S. K-1 financial statement preparation.
- Knowledge of hedge fund or investment fund accounting principles.
- Understanding of NAV calculations, high-water marks, and investor allocations.
- Experience with performance fee allocations.
- Proficiency in Excel formulas for financial modeling and reporting.
- Familiarity with AI tools for research or accounting verification.
- Experience with networked filing systems (H drive, P drive, etc.).
- Experience working under a senior or head accountant.
