Unlock Your Potential!
At TOA Global, we have a deep commitment to empowering individuals to excel in their enterprises, careers, and communities. Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, supporting our global clients in the accounting industry.
As a US Intermediate Accountant, you are a core technical driver within our North American division. This role is designed for a confident professional who has moved beyond foundational tasks and is ready to manage small client portfolios with limited supervision. You won't just be preparing returns; you'll be a quality guardian, a mentor to junior staff, and a strategic partner to our US-based clients in navigating the complexities of federal and state compliance.
Your Impact
Portfolio & Compliance Lead: Manage a diverse range of US client portfolios, taking ownership of end-to-end accounting and tax compliance. You will handle IRS and state compliance tasks, including the filing of extensions and the formulation of action plans to resolve official notices.
Complex Tax Preparation: Lead the preparation of sophisticated U.S. federal and state income tax returns, including Corporate (1120/1120S), Partnership (1065), and Trust (1041) filings. Your role will involve high-level exposure to multi-state filings and estate tax matters.
Quality Assurance & Mentorship: Act as a critical second line of defense by reviewing the work of junior and staff accountants for accuracy and technical completeness. You ensure that every workpaper and financial statement meets firm and regulatory standards before senior review.
General Ledger Mastery: Oversee all aspects of the General Ledger, ensuring that journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports are not only accurate but provide meaningful insights into account information and business trends.
Strategic Coordination: Communicate regularly with the U.S. accounting team to resolve complex issues and ensure that all deliverables are met on time, maintaining the high-trust relationships that define our global service model.
What You Bring
The Experience:2-3+ years of dedicated US accounting experience is required, specifically within a US accounting firm or SME environment. You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Technical Mastery: Proven ability to prepare complex corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns. You are highly proficient in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online and possess a strong command of US GAAP.
The Mindset: A proactive problem-solver with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple client priorities. You are an effective communicator who can translate complex data into clear reports and provide constructive feedback to junior team members.
