As a US Intermediate Bookkeeper, you are a core technical specialist within our North American division. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional who has moved beyond basic data entry and is ready to manage complex compliance, payroll, and financial reporting. You will act as a bridge between foundational bookkeeping and strategic tax preparation, ensuring our US-based SMEs operate with absolute financial clarity and regulatory confidence.
Your Impact
Master of the Digital Ledger: Categorize daily accounting transactions with precision using Hubdoc and QuickBooks Online (QBO). You will maintain pristine documentation and ensure the accuracy of client financial records, managing AP and AR workflows as needed to keep the wheels of commerce turning.
Payroll & Compliance Lead: Handle end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring strict adherence to US Federal and State payroll compliance. Your expertise will extend to year-end requirements, including the preparation of 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC forms for contractors and vendors.
Strategic Financial Reporting: Move beyond the numbers to provide high-value cashflow reporting and forecasting for SMEs. You will prepare monthly management accounts and detailed financial reports that serve as the foundation for 1120S (S-Corp) and 1065 (Partnership) tax returns.
Proactive Problem Solver: Take the lead in reading IRS and State notices, formulating clear action plans to resolve discrepancies. You will support junior bookkeepers through training and oversight, fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous professional growth.
What You Bring
The Experience:2-3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within a US accounting firm or SME environment. You have a solid understanding of US tax laws and the preparation requirements for various business entities.
Technical Mastery: Highly proficient in QuickBooks Online and Excel/Google Sheets. You are comfortable navigating cloud-based accounting ecosystems and possess the analytical skills to provide meaningful financial insights.
The Mindset: A proactive communicator with exceptional English skills and high attention to detail. You are comfortable asking questions to ensure no-guess accuracy and possess the organizational strength to manage multiple client deadlines simultaneously.
