We are seeking an experienced
U.S. Registered Nurse (RN) to provide
after-hours telephone triage and support for a busy pediatric practice. This is a fully remote role responsible for assisting patients and families with urgent concerns, clinical guidance, and post-operative care questions outside of normal office hours.
The ideal candidate has strong
pediatric clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make sound clinical decisions independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and manage after-hours inbound calls from pediatric patients and caregivers
- Perform clinical triage and assess symptoms using established protocols
- Provide medical guidance and reassurance based on patient needs
- Escalate urgent or emergent cases appropriately to on-call providers or emergency services
- Support families with post-operative care instructions and concerns
- Accurately document all patient interactions in the EMR system
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
- Maintain a calm, empathetic, and professional demeanor in all interactions
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted U.S. Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience (required)
- Experience with post-operative care strongly preferred
- Prior experience in telephone triage, call center nursing, or telehealth is a plus
- Familiarity with Epic EMR is highly preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
