Job Description

Achieve personal sales targets by selling assigned products range using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to serve and assist customers by applying product solutions to their needs resulting in meeting sales budget and generation of revenue. This may include planning, supervising and giving functional support to the team. Key focus industries are Car Parking system and warehouse automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the entire selling process of identifying customers through sales leads, referrals, cold calls, etc., and creating demand and capturing orders by building relationships and formulating product solutions and specifications based on customers needs so as to ensure the meeting of sales quota and contribution towards sales revenue.
  • Prepare quotations and tenders, negotiate terms and check all commercial terms of offer and order of acceptance so as to ensure compliance with Levels of Authority and other relevant policies
  • Develop and/or enhance product presentation materials and participate in sales meetings with customers to do sales pitch, assess and address customers needs so as to provide feasible technical solutions and close sales deal in a professional manner.
  • Participate in marketing research, planning and sales forecasting so as to ensure targeted market and potential customer bases are fully tapped in order to generate a steady stream of revenue to meet and maintain profitability level. This includes maintaining an up-to-date record of competitors products, market activities, industry trends, customers buying trends and sharing of best practices, etc during sales meetings/discussions, etc.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of Project Specification Sheets (PSS) for each sales order in order to facilitate proper and effective kick-off handover to Project Department in a clear and timely manner. This includes arranging coordination meetings between the customers and the responsible Project Engineer(s).
  • Complete data and information in the Project Management database to ensure project details are constantly updated and readily available for follow up and viewing by all relevant parties involved in the project.
  • Actively use the Customer Relationship Management (C4C) tool in monitoring, analysing and communicating monthly sales data in daily work to manage personal targets and contribute to product and service planning.
  • Monitor the debtors list periodically and coordinate with Finance Department to ensure timely invoicing and follow up with customers on all overdue accounts (whenever required) so that overdue debts can be promptly collected and settled.
  • Establish and maintain long-term customer satisfaction by way of periodic visits to customers to monitor performance of delivered products and services.
  • Participate with a representative from Project and/or Service Department to ensure that handover of projects to customers are proper and complete so that all outstanding issues (if any) are fully resolved during the handover.

  • Technical Sales Engineer Qualifications

    Education

    Bachelor's degreein:

    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical/Electronics Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Automation/Control Engineering

    Technical Competence

    • Strong understanding ofengineering principlesrelated to the product (e.g., automation systems, industrial machinery, instrumentation).
    • Ability to read and interprettechnical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
    • Familiarity withindustry software/tools(e.g., CAD, SCADA, PLC programming basics for automation).
    • Knowledge ofindustry standardsand regulations.

    Sales & Business Skills

    • Experience inB2B salesor customer-facing technical roles.
    • Strongnegotiation, persuasion, and presentationskills.
    • Ability to prepare and delivertechnical proposalsand quotations.
    • Understanding ofsales cycles, lead generation, and account management.

    Soft Skills

    • Excellent communication able to translate complex technical terms into clear business benefits.
    • Problem-solving mindset quick to assess and recommend solutions.
    • Time and project management capable of handling multiple clients and deadlines.
    • Team collaboration works well with engineering, operations, and procurement teams.

    Experience

    • Typically25 yearsin a technical or engineering role, preferably with exposure to sales.
    • Hands-on experience with the product/solution you're selling is a big advantage.
