The System administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They install hardware and software, and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up the technology side of the company. System administrators also actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.
Success in this role will require you to fulfill the following responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
2. Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
3. Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
4. Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
5. Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
6. Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
7. Responsible for capacity management, storage planning, and database performance
8. Monitor data storage media and processor utilization and requirements
9. Provide regular monitoring and reporting of system performance, utilization, and efficiency.
10. Performs other functions that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or any related technology course.
2. At least 2 -3 years of experience in system administration field, preferably with cloud and and on premise systems experience.
3. Adept in cloud computing technology (eg. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and server less technology and databases.
4. Effective communicators who explain complex terms
5. Problem solving skills
6. Good time management skills

8. Above average verbal and written communication skills.
9. Working knowledge of web-based Google Workspace (formerly, G Suite, and comprises of spreadsheets, documents, and presentations).
10. Willing to do fieldwork, as needed.
