About the Role
We're looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join a growing, cloud-based professional services organization. This is a hands-on technical role supporting a modern IT environment and serving as a key escalation point for complex systems, applications, security, and end-user issues.
You'll work closely with IT leadership and the frontline support team to maintain and improve the organization's technology environment, lead technical projects and migrations, strengthen IT processes and security controls, and ensure employees receive a reliable, high-quality IT experience.
This is a great fit for someone who enjoys being both a systems administrator and technical problem-solver, is comfortable working across multiple SaaS and cloud platforms, and can take ownership of projects from planning through implementation.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a hands-on technical lead within a growing IT team
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, including configuration, troubleshooting, security, and user administration
- Act as a Level 2/3 escalation point for complex technical and end-user issues
- Support and occasionally provide direct end-user assistance when escalations or coverage require it
- Perform and support major cloud tenant migrations, system consolidations, rebrands, and technology implementations
- Manage identity and access platforms, including Azure/Entra ID, Google Identity, SSO, and SCIM
- Manage device and endpoint environments using MDM/RMM tools, such as Microsoft Intune
- Administer business SaaS and collaboration applications such as Adobe, Atlassian, ClickUp, Monday.com, Slack, Zoom, and similar platforms
- Manage email infrastructure and related technologies, including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Support cloud infrastructure components such as DNS, domains, email routing, and related services
- Help implement and maintain cybersecurity controls across email, endpoints, cloud applications, identity, and employee awareness
- Support core business applications and integrations as needed
- Work with IT service management, ticketing, asset management, and documentation platforms
- Develop and maintain IT processes, SOPs, onboarding/offboarding workflows, and service delivery standards
- Partner with internal stakeholders, leadership, vendors, and outsourced IT/MSP providers
- Assist with vendor, license, and subscription management
- Help identify opportunities to improve IT efficiency, security, scalability, and employee experience
- Participate in technology and cybersecurity projects from planning and testing through deployment
- Help shape the future IT operating model as the organization continues to grow
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems administration, systems support, or end-user technology support
- Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
- Experience using either Microsoft 365 PowerShell modules or GAM
- Strong experience supporting cloud-based SaaS applications used for employee productivity and collaboration
- Hands-on experience with Azure/Entra ID, identity management, SSO, and/or SCIM
- Experience with endpoint/device management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, MDM, or RMM
- Strong understanding of email administration and SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Working knowledge of IT service management / ITIL principles
- Understanding of cybersecurity controls for endpoints, cloud services, email, identity, and data protection
- Experience working with an MSP, outsourced IT model, or external technology partners
- Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to diagnose issues methodically
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when working directly with end users and stakeholders
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities, projects, and escalations
- Strong ownership, judgment, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential information
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
- Microsoft, Azure, Google, ITIL, CompTIA, or related certifications are a plus
What Success Looks Like
In this role, you'll be expected to operate beyond basic ticket resolution. You'll help keep the organization's cloud and SaaS environment secure, reliable, and scalable while serving as a trusted escalation point for the support team.
You should be comfortable investigating problems, asking the right questions, testing solutions, documenting changes, and seeing technical initiatives through to completion.
There is also an opportunity to grow into broader technical leadership responsibilities as the IT organization expands.
