Position Description:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, managing fixed asset accounting, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities. This role ensures financial transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies while supporting financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and completely.
  • Manage the fixed asset accounting process, including asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Review and process capital expenditure (CapEx) transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare monthly fixed asset and balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor and analyze capital expenditure budgets versus actual spending and provide variance analysis to management.
  • Analyze monthly financial statements, identify unusual fluctuations or variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure assigned accounting processes comply with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, and cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and operational efficiencies.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience (To excel in this role, you should possess):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in General Accounting, Financial Reporting, or a related accounting function.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems preferred) and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Oracle Fusion, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or other ERP systems.
  • Experience supporting internal and external financial audits.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Experience in shared services, BPO, or multinational organizations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting.
