The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. This role requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and is proficient in accounting. The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks at a time is required. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Finance teams in North America and the Philippines.

Duties & Responsibilities
Accounting and Reporting
- Assist in the completion of the monthly financial close process. This includes:
- Posting and reviewing of month-end journal entries
- Managing accruals and prepayments
- Preparation of the monthly billing and financial statements
- Analyzing the financial reports and investigating unusual variances or trends as needed
Payroll Accounting and Reporting
- Review payroll calculations, including employees final pay
- Prepare and record payroll journal entries
- Ensure that the appropriate taxes and mandatory contributions are withheld and remitted on time
- Review the annualization of employees compensation taxes and prepare withholding tax certificates
- Work closely with the HR team in resolving payroll disputes and addressing employees concerns regarding payroll
- Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of tax returns and other statutory reports
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations timely, accurately and in compliance with company guidelines
- Regularly monitor the cash flow position of the company
- Assist with the annual year-end audit, including the drafting of the financial statements and related notes
General
- Ensure that process documentations are complete and up-to-date
- Proactively identify and resolve issues and respond to internal customer escalations
- Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting controls
- Identify and recommend opportunities for policy and process improvements
- Participate in special projects as necessary
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or any business course
- A Certified Public Accountant or similar designation is an advantage
Experience
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in accounting to report functions, taxation and cash management
- Has at least two years of experience in Philippine payroll processing. Hands-on experience with using payroll software is desirable
- Strong knowledge and experience in statutory requirements (SEC, BIR, PEZA and the local government)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Having advanced Excel skills is an advantage
- Hands-on experience in using accounting software or ERP (preferably Netsuite and/or Quickbooks)
