SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
The Senior Accountant supports the Accounting Head in overseeing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing reconciliations, reviewing journal entries, and assisting in audits and reporting. The Senior Accountant also provides guidance to junior accounting staff and contributes to continuous improvement in accounting processes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/JOB or MAN SPECIFICATION
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Professional certification (CPA or equivalent) preferred.
Experience(s):
35 years progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting
Specific Knowledge:
1.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards (IFRS/GAAP), and financial controls.
2. Proficiency in accounting and ERP software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
3. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING
a. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure accurate financial records.
b. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
c. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
d. Review subsidiary ledgers and trial balances to ensure data integrity.
e. Support management with financial analysis and variance explanations.
ACCOUNTS MANAGEMENT
a. Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording.
b. Review supplier invoices, expense claims, and payment vouchers for proper authorization and coding
c. Monitor customer accounts and ageing and coordinate with billing and finance for follow up on collections where necessary.
d. Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
AUDIT AND COMPLIANCE
a. Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and schedules.
b. Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and company policies.
c. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls.
FINANCIAL SYSTEMS AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS
a. Participate in the implementation and enhancement of accounting and ERP systems.
b. Recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal control.
c. Ensure accurate documentation and filing of all financial records.
TEAM SUPPORT AND SUPERVISION
a. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to junior accountants / accounting assistants.
b. Review and verify work completed by team members to ensure accuracy and compliance.
c. Promote best practices and contribute to improving accounting processes and systems.
Location: Quezon City
Salary Budget: 30,000 - 35,000 (Negotiable)
