Lead Accountant

Location: Pasay City

Industry: Brokerage and Logistics Company

About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Lead Accountant to join our growing brokerage and logistics company in Pasay. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing costs, preparing financial reports, and providing strategic insights to optimize profitability. This role requires close collaboration with the CEO and other key stakeholders to ensure accurate financial tracking and cost efficiency across operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and monitor costs related to logistics, warehousing, brokerage, and supply chain operations
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports, variance analysis, and budget performance to the CEO
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, ensuring accuracy in inventory valuation, freight costs, and overhead allocation
  • Conduct regular audits of operational expenses and recommend cost-saving measures
  • Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to evaluate supplier pricing and contract efficiency
  • Assist in financial forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to cost accounting
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and decision support to the CEO

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA license is a plus)
  • 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in logistics, brokerage, or supply chain industries
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial reporting, and ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas) and accounting software
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with senior management
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of cost accounting standards (e.g., absorption costing, activity-based costing)
  • Ability to communicate financial data to non-finance stakeholders
