The Senior Accountant 2 will be responsible for overseeing the project cost accounting and reporting aspects of assigned construction projects. This involves preparing requisition forms, recording revenues, and diligently monitoring project budgets, commitments, and expenditures.
Job Description
Manage project cost accounting and reporting for assigned construction projects.
Prepare requisition form and record revenues in accounting software.
Monitor project budgets, commitments, and expenditures, and provide regular financial updates.
Review and approve project-related invoices and ensure proper coding and timely payment.
Prepare and analyze project financial statements, including cost reports, revenue recognition, and cash flow forecasts.
Collaborate with project managers to review and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and variances.
Assist in the preparation of project budgets, including cost estimates and projections.
Conduct regular project cost reviews and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
Coordinate with external auditors during project audits and respond to audit inquiries.
Maintain accurate project financial records, including project contracts, change orders, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Assist in the implementation and improvement of project accounting processes and systems.
Required Qualifications
Proven background in construction accounting.
Comprehensive understanding and application of project accounting principles and practices, showcasing proficiency in navigating complex financial frameworks.
Proficient in utilizing accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on Excel, demonstrating the ability to manipulate data and generate insightful financial reports.
Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a high level of accuracy in financial records, reports, and associated documentation.
Strong organizational skills and effective time management, to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities efficiently.
Strong analytical prowess and problem-solving abilities, demonstrating the capability to identify and address financial challenges and discrepancies.
Clear and coherent in both verbal and written communication skills, fostering collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders, promoting a cohesive working environment.

Screening Criteria
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Minimum of four (4) years of project accounting experience.
At least two (2) years of experience in construction accounting, including bookkeeping and tax-related tasks.
Must have a stable employment history.
