JOB ROLE: SALES MANAGER (CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY)
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and managing key accounts for the construction business of the company. This role focuses on developing and executing sales strategies, building strong relationships with contractors, developers, and distributors, and leading the sales team to achieve revenue and market share targets. The position requires strong industry knowledge, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of the Philippine construction market.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and execute sales plans for construction materials, ensuring alignment with revenue, margin, and market share targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, key projects, and strategic accounts.
- Analyze sales data, market conditions, and competitor activities to guide strategic decision-making.
Account & Relationship Management
- Oversee key and strategic accounts while guiding the team in managing day-to-day customer relationships.
- Support the team in high-level negotiations, contract discussions, and project bids.
- Build long-term partnerships with contractors, developers, consultants, and distributors.
Sales Operations & Performance Monitoring
- Track team performance, pipeline health, and forecast accuracy on a regular basis.
- Conduct sales meetings to review results, challenges, and action plans.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of sales reports, forecasts, and budget updates.
Technical & Product Leadership
- Act as the escalation point for technical or commercial concerns raised by clients or the sales team.
- Ensure the team has sufficient product knowledge and understanding of construction site requirements.
- Support product demonstrations, site visits, and major client presentations when required.
Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, manage, and develop the sales team to achieve individual and collective sales targets.
- Set clear performance goals, sales quotas, and KPIs aligned with company objectives.
- Conduct regular coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews to strengthen selling skills, technical knowledge, and professionalism.
- Identify training needs and ensure continuous development of the sales team on products, market trends, and sales strategies.
- Drive accountability, discipline, and performance culture within the sales organization.
- Recruit, onboard, and recommend staffing requirements to support business growth.
WHO YOU ARE:
- At least 3-5 years of proven experience leading and managing a sales team and working directly with business owners.
- Minimum of 8 years of sales experience in construction consumables, accessories, and formworks and falseworks.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution.
- Strong people leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Established network within the Philippine construction industry.
- Experience managing regional or multi-area sales teams.
