As a Research Head, you will be responsible in handling and managing the Research Department that provides analytical and research support. Keeps to maintain the quality of Issuers, Counterparties, Brokers, and other products within the investment universe. The role helps to establish the Division's views on Economics, various Sectors, and on some specific securities by having a more extensive analysis of opportunities and risk matters that may affect investment decisions. This contributes to the higher probability of achieving Quantitative targets by Fund Managers.
How you'll contribute
- Supervises the production of Research Output on the Division's Investment Universe by using both Quantitative and Qualitative Methods to co-develop strategies and identify opportunities and risk issues that will support a calculated investment view
- Conducts periodic or on demand financial and market updates and reports of Securities and Sectors using financial and credit analysis to enable a better understanding of the Issuer and new fundamental development
- Establishes a system of efficiency in the management of analysts and data by continuous re-development in order to achieve fluidity with regard to the overall processes of the Research Department.
- Maintains financial, economic, and market data (domestic and select global information) by gathering, collating, summarizing, and constant monitoring for ready reference when needed (for analysis and presentations as well as for Risk developments)
- Assists Institutional and retail Units in their sales and marketing efforts by making presentations to internal and external clients to help relay our views and strategies as well as to develop familiarity and confidence in us
- Supervises the preparation of Issuer/Counterparty/Broker reviews and revalidation to ensure the investment universe contains sound and good quality Names and that counterparties are determined to be solid and financially viable
- Operates as a Back-up to the Fund Managers by looking after select portfolios to establish a Funds management support mechanism for the Division
What we're looking for
- At least 5 years of work experience in related industry
- Preferably a business graduate of a top-tier university with distinction or with more than years working experience in a related field. Post Graduate or CFA a plus
- With extreme attention to details, good analytical, financial and communication skills, good judgement and decision-making skills
