About The Role

UCM Education is hiring 1–2 Recruitment Candidate Consultants to support our growing UK Education Recruitment desks.

This is a fast-paced, delivery-focused recruitment role for someone with real candidate-facing recruitment experience. We are looking for people who can confidently speak to candidates, run screening calls, assess suitability, manage follow-ups, and keep candidate pipelines moving.

UCM Education has been operating in the education recruitment market for over 11 years, with an established candidate database, strong market network, and active desks that new consultants can tap into from the start.

This is not a role where you will be waiting months to get involved. You will be expected to get on the phones quickly, engage candidates, book suitable applicants, and contribute to desk activity from the early stages of joining.

You will support our UK Education desks, including Early Years and Teachers, working closely with experienced consultants to source, screen, and progress candidates for UK school placements.

We are not looking for complete beginners. We are looking for hungry, driven, coachable recruiters who understand the basics of recruitment and want to grow in a business where strong performance is recognised and rewarded.

What You'll Be Focused On

Your role is to keep candidate activity moving at pace.

You will be focused on sourcing, screening, engaging, and progressing suitable education candidates so the recruitment team can deliver strong placements for UK schools.

This role is about action, follow-through, communication, and outcomes — not passive admin support.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Sourcing suitable candidates through our existing database, job boards, and other recruitment channels
  • Reviewing CVs and identifying relevant experience, gaps, strengths, and concerns
  • Screening candidates for UK education roles, including teachers, teaching assistants, SEN staff, and Early Years candidates
  • Conducting candidate screening calls to assess suitability, experience, communication, and availability
  • Managing candidate communication through calls, email, and messages
  • Keeping candidate pipelines active through consistent follow-up
  • Updating the CRM accurately and consistently
  • Booking candidates for next steps and supporting them through the recruitment process
  • Working closely with consultants to support placement targets
  • Maintaining clear, professional, and timely communication with the wider team
  • Moving quickly, staying organised, and taking ownership of your candidate activity

What We're Looking For

  • Around 1+ year of recruitment experience
  • Experience conducting candidate screening calls
  • Experience sourcing candidates through job boards, databases, or similar channels
  • Ability to work at pace in a target-driven recruitment environment
  • Ability to assess CVs and identify candidate suitability
  • Experience using a CRM, ATS, recruitment database, or similar system
  • Clear and professional spoken and written English
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Good responsiveness and follow-through
  • Confidence speaking to candidates daily
  • A proactive, ownership-led approach to recruitment activity
  • Motivation to build a long-term career in recruitment

This Role Is Not For You If

  • You have only done recruitment administration and have not spoken to candidates directly
  • You are not comfortable conducting screening calls
  • You cannot clearly explain how you source and assess candidates
  • You are looking for a slow-paced or purely admin/process-based role
  • You are uncomfortable working with targets, follow-ups, and candidate pipelines
  • You are only motivated by salary and not interested in performance or progression
  • You prefer repetitive tasks with limited candidate interaction
