Job Description
A. Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost estimation:
a. Studying project drawings and specifications to calculate the cost of materials, labor, and other construction elements.
b. Preparing detailed cost breakdowns and budget proposals for clients.
c. Conducting feasibility studies to assess project viability.
2. Contract management:
a. Preparing bills of quantities (BOQ) to clearly define project scope and pricing.
b. Evaluating tenders from contractors and negotiating contract terms.
c. Managing contractual variations and claims throughout the project.
3. Project monitoring:
a. Tracking project costs against the budget, identifying potential cost overruns, and proposing mitigation strategies.
b. Analyzing variations in design and their impact on costs
c. Reporting and communication:
d. Preparing comprehensive reports for clients, project managers, and other stakeholders detailing project costs and financial status.
e. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project alignment and cost control.
B. Qualifications and Experience
:1. Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Civil Enginee
r2. At least 3 - 5 years relevant experience in estimation and costing of Bill of Quantitie
s3. Strong analytical skills to interpret complex construction drawings and specification
s4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage contracts and relationships with contractor
s5. Expertise in construction cost estimating softwar
e6. Knowledge of relevant construction contracts and legal framework
s7. Understanding of project management principle
s8. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressur
