The Role
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage data center infrastructure projects based in Manila. The ideal candidate will have 45 years of hands-on experience managing data center construction, expansion, or migration projects. The Project Manager will coordinate all phases of the project lifecycle from planning and execution to delivery and closure ensuring that project goals are met on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Initiation
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and milestones.
- Develop detailed project plans including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with stakeholders to gather requirements and align expectations.
- Execution & Delivery
- Lead the execution of data center projects (build-outs, upgrades, migrations, etc.) from inception to completion.
- Manage cross-functional teams including contractors, engineers, network and IT teams.
- Ensure all work complies with company and industry standards (e.g., TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ISO).
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Provide regular project status updates to internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Vendor & Contractor Management
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure SLAs are met.
- Budget & Risk Management
- Monitor project budgets and control costs effectively.
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including plans, reports, and post-project reviews.
- Ensure all deliverables comply with data center standards and company policies.
Ideal Profile
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or related field (Master's or PMP certification is a plus).
- Minimum of 45 years of proven experience managing data center projects or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of data center systems (power, cooling, cabling, racks, networking).
- Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to be based in Manila and travel occasionally as required.
