Your impact

At Jacobs, we deliver innovative solutions for Aviation, Power, Building, Infrastructure, and Advanced Facilities projects. As a Piping Stress Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and safety of piping systems across complex industrial projects. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to perform stress and vibration analysis, optimize layouts, and ensure compliance with international codes and standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform pipe stress and vibration analysis using Caesar II, AutoPIPE, and other engineering tools, as well as hand calculations in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Develop and review piping flexibility studies and support designs for critical lines during early design stages.
  • Prepare project specifications, procedures, critical line lists, mechanical and piping loading data, and engineering data sheets.
  • Review equipment vendor drawings for support positions, evaluate nozzle loadings, and coordinate special requirements.
  • Prepare engineering calculations for support spans, loadings, reinforcement requirements, flange leakage, and pressure-retaining thickness.
  • Ensure compliance with US and EU codes and standards and good engineering practices.
  • Lead pipe stress scope for small projects, managing schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor documentation checks.

Here's what you'll need

  • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and possess a valid PRC Professional License.
  • 510 years of project experience in oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, and advanced facilities.
  • Proficiency in software tools Caesar II, AutoPIPE, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and strong skills in 2D/3D modeling and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory codes and standards US and EU.
  • Technical competency in pipe stress and vibration analysis, using computer-aided engineering programs and/or hand methods.
  • Commitment to quality control, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all deliverables.
