Piping Stress Review Engineer

Primary Responsibility:

ThePiping Stress Review engineer is responsible for the technical review of piping flexibility and stress analysis reports provided by SGS Clients, ensure compliance with ASME standards, and manage the communication of findings with both internal teams. Acting as an independent third party reviewing the project.

Piping Stress Review engineer responsibilities may include all or a subset of the following:

• At all times, complies with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
• Perform technical review of piping flexibility stress reports according to ASME B31.3 (reports generated in software such as CAESAR II or AutoPIPE).
• Review reports in PDF format or directly within the stress analysis software.
• Prepare and maintain Comment Return Sheets (CRS) (internal Excel tables) to track findings, issues, and client communication.
• Coordinate with internal teams and provide clear feedback on stress analysis results.
• Participate in technical meetings when required, to clarify comments and provide engineering input.
• Ensure all reviews and comments are consistent with project requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Prior experience is mandatory:
  • Knowledge in stress analysis theory applicable to piping flexibility analysis
  • Min 2 years of experience in piping design acc ASME B31.3
  • Min 2 years of experience in the use of CAESERII
• English write and read fluency
• English spoken effective level for technical meetings (B2)
• High attention to detail and accuracy in technical reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of integrity and sense of responsibility.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in remote and multidisciplinary environments.
• Works well under pressure.
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
