POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting and Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll, filing payroll-related tax returns, and supporting payroll-related month-end close activities. This role partners closely with multiple departments, including Human Resources and Hospitality operations, to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Process bi-weekly payroll.

Prepare and maintain payroll records by compiling payroll and benefits data from source documents.

Input data into the payroll system, verify accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile system output.

Prepare and submit all required payroll tax returns and payments.

Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure new hires, terminations, and employee changes are accurately reflected in the payroll system.

Participate in month-end payroll close by preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.

Respond to payroll-related inquiries via email and provide support to internal and external stakeholders.

Identify opportunities for process and system improvements and assist with implementation.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3+ years of Accounting and US payroll processing experience.

Experience with HRIS systems; ADP compensation and benefits experience preferred.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.

Analytical and detail-oriented, with a curiosity to understand and improve processes.
