The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of end-to-end Philippine payroll processing, ensuring compliance with Philippine labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory government requirements. The role is also responsible for maintaining employee payroll data in SAP SuccessFactors, coordinating with HR and Finance, and resolving payroll-related concerns while ensuring payroll accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end Philippine payroll for weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll cycles.
- Validate and reconcile payroll inputs, including attendance, timesheets, overtime, holiday pay, night differential, leave transactions, incentives, commissions, and allowances.
- Compute employee salaries, statutory deductions, taxes, final pay, and other payroll-related payments.
- Process payroll for new hires, employee movements, promotions, salary adjustments, resignations, and terminations.
- Ensure accurate computation and remittance of statutory contributions, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and BIR Withholding Tax
- Generate payroll reports, government reports, and reconciliation reports for Finance and Management.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records in SAP SuccessFactors, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to validate payroll-related changes prior to payroll processing.
- Process 13th Month Pay, leave conversion, retroactive adjustments, bonuses, and final pay in compliance with Philippine labor regulations.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries promptly.
- Ensure compliance with Philippine Labor Code, BIR regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Support payroll audits and ensure proper documentation of payroll transactions.
- Recommend and implement payroll process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or any related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of solid experience in end-to-end Philippine payroll processing.
- Hands-on experience using SAP SuccessFactors
- Strong knowledge of Philippine payroll laws, taxation, and statutory government contributions.

- Salary adjustments and retroactive pay
- Tax computation and filing
- SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions and remittances
- Payroll reconciliations
- Experience handling payroll for medium to large organizations (500+ employees preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data reconciliation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity and maintains confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a shared services, BPO, or multinational company environment.
- Experience handling high-volume payroll (1,000+ employees).
- Familiarity with payroll audits, compliance reporting, and payroll process improvements.
- Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors integrations with payroll systems is an advantage.
