Job Description

Lixil is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Asia Payroll Processing Manager to own and manage the end-to-end payroll process for our employees across multiple countries in Asia. This role is critical to ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance with local statutory regulations, and the continuous improvement of our payroll operations. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in APAC+GC payroll, a proactive problem-solver, and an effective leader who can manage both internal processes and external vendor relationships

Payroll Processing & Accuracy:

  • Own the end-to-end payroll processing for all entities within the Asia region
  • Ensure all payroll transactions (base pay, STI, benefits, taxes, deductions) are processed accurately and on time.
  • Validate and approve payroll reports before finalizing each pay cycle.
  • Manage the resolution of complex payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries with a high sense of urgency and discretion.

Compliance & Statutory Reporting:

  • Stay abreast of and ensure 100% compliance with all local statutory regulations, including tax laws, social security, labor laws, and payroll-related filings in each country.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate submission of all statutory reports and payments to relevant government authorities (e.g., tax bureaus, pension funds, provident funds).
  • Lead internal and external payroll audits and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of payroll processes and controls for SOX/compliance purposes.

Vendor & System Management:

  • Manage relationships with third-party payroll vendors across the region, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and performance is regularly reviewed.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the company, vendors, and local authorities.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and system enhancements, including the optimization of a regional payroll process.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior payroll staff, if applicable.
  • Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure seamless data flow (new hires, terminations, salary changes) and alignment on policies.
  • Partner with the Total Rewards team on the payroll implications of equity, bonuses, and benefits.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Prepare and distribute standard and ad-hoc payroll reports for management, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends, provide insights, and support strategic decision-making.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 -8 years of progressive experience in payroll management, multi-country payroll experience within the Asia region will be a plus.
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of payroll rules, regulations, and statutory requirements for at least 4-5 key Asian countries (China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore, etc).
  • Proven experience managing external payroll vendors.
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and the ability to reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheet and experience with HRIS (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM) and payroll systems.
